is the white balance in dslrs innacurate and?

why is that if so..and do you use grey cards or cally caps.. does it help.. why does that make sense.. and what about regular slrs
fotoace ur always a good source of info..actually i had no doubts at all your first two sentances was what i thought also .. mass production put the idea in my head with grey this and that the cap grey thing .i put it off for years but they got me.i dont like it at all.. shoulda followed my first common sense with dlsr. thanks .. all of you its the photographer…

yeh i got sucked into lally cap ads in back of magazines placing a seed of doubt… but there are grey cards thanks for all the help bless out… the lally cap swears dslrs are not accurate i dont see how thats possible…

First, where did you get the idea that dSLR have inaccurate white balance?

If the photographer has the skills, dSLR’s can actually produce better white balance than film.

The film only comes in daylight and tungsten white balance and if you look at the white balance options on say the Nikon D300, you will see that not only does it allow the photographer to pick settings that include bright sun, overcast, shade, electronic flash, incandescent and seven different choices of fluorescent, but in each of those modes, adjustments along a Blue – Amber axis or along a Magenta – Green axis in 5 mired increments. And of course you can set the white balance in degrees Kelvin from 2500 to 100000 degrees K.
