Will the Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G Lens work with my Nikon D40?
Will the Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Zoom Nikkor Lens Lens work with my D40?
And can anyone tell me if they have or have used this lens? Is it a fairly good lens for the low price it is?
What is a lens you would recommend for $250 at most.. that has a good zoom and that I will be able to use auto focus on?
They’re compatible, but you will not have auto focus on the D40.

You will probably have chromatic aberration at higher focal lengths. My 70-300mm ED IF gives me that, and it’s supposed to be better about that stuff than the 70-300mm G.
