Filter Polarizer Sony

What kind of Polarizer filter should i buy – SONY (MAVICA)MVC-FD92?

My wife has a SONY (MAVICA) MVC-FD92 digital camera that her parents purchased for her several years ago (It was top of the line or close when origionally purchased). Recently we wanted to purchase a Polarizing filter for this camera only to find that the one made by SONY (VF-37PKS) was discontinued.

Does anyone know of another filter that would fit this camera?

Would something like a Quantaray , SunPak, Tiffen, or Hoya filter work?

Go to a camera or video store and purchase a 37mm circular polarizing filter. Circular polarizers are needed for video cameras and autofocus camera lenses as linear polarizing filters (where the direction of polarization can be adjusted) interfere with the autofocusing features of the cameras. The 37mm thread is standard. You can probably even find one on E-Bay. Good brands that I could recommend include Hoya and Cokin but really any one should be sufficient as long as it is a circular polarizing filter (most modern ones are these days).
